Toe-in and a straight steering wheel

Last time out, I stuffed the left-front into a rut...now my tow is out.
When the steering wheel in centered, the right-front it straight, but the left-front is pointing a bit left.

If I adjust the toe according to the manual - by adjusting both control arms equally - my steering wheel will be crooked.

Any advice on how I can get my toe correct while also having a straight steering wheel? Or am I out of luck?

I don't think simply cranking the left control arm will work...or???

What ever is bent needs to be replaced to straighten it out and have a straight wheel!

something is bent fore sure, also check the frame where the lower a arms bolt to, the frame tends to take a little hit right there.

I'm thinking the rack or the spindle is where the problem is.
Frame has gussets and doesn't *look* bent.

I'd like to just adjust the toe for now until I get the time to replace both spindles - I think they're both slightly bent anyways.

if the frame is has gussets your good on the frame, if you have factory spindles thats prolly where the problem lies. they bend pretty easily especially when you stuff the front end (i went through a couple sets my self) and its hard to tell they are bent until you take some measurements. either way i would look into either getting an aftermarket set of spindles or putting a gusset kit on the factory set, as they are one of the weakest links on the rhino front end.

You need to have the wheel staright and then adjust the steering, not the other way around. But the chances are good that you have bent something.

Not sure if I want to put aftermarket spindles on...if these get stronger, then what's the next weak link that can go? Prolly something a lot more expensive...?

The left front took a pretty good hit...came to an immediate stop and lifted the rear off the ground. I thought I was going to go end-over.

If I adjust it with the wheel straight, and just bring the left-front back in line, won't I have a reduced steering-wheel angle when the wheel is turned all the way to the left at full-lock?

No everything else will be the same. All you are doing is recorrecting the toe-in. If you set the toe and THEN try to adjust the steering wheel (like by taking it off and reinstalling it) Your steering rack won't be in the center position. You might end up with more right turn than left turn! This may or may not work depending on how far bent you are!

Right on I'll give it a shot. Was just concerned because the service manual said to adjust the right and left control arms equally. But since I effed-up just the left (and not both side equally) I won't be able to do that. :-)
