Head gasket
Im posting this find about torque on rhino head gasket; Many have problems with blown head gaskets; While building Sandnu's new motor,I torqued all the main bolts, cross pattern, and noticed the gasket still had daylite through the cam chain chamber, torque the top 6mm to 9 lbs, still had daylite,;now im thinking either the head ,barrel or both are warped;not so since I had hand lapped both ; so here you go, I built a torque
plate to cover to two 6mm bolts that torque through the ball cap,on the cam chamber side, but with out the ball cap( cam cover),and torque to spec. The two main head bolts near the cam chamber lost ten lbs of torque. This might be why the head gasket blows out in this area. Conclusion, you need to simulate a torque program that when the engine top end is complete, all torque on bolts are per spec. This cannot be done without the torque plate, because when the cam cover is on ,you cannot check the head bolt torque.......just my findings

we checked mine after 1500 miles total and over 800 on the 686 part and still perfect with stock bolts.
seems to me, if there is daylight it is not flat, IMO.
was there day light when setting them together with no gasket Don?
