Sorry I guess we all got a little off subject. You are right it shouldn't be allowed in a UTV class as the classes stand. If they continue to allow it then they need to have an Open Mod Class that is a "run what you brung class" with no restrictions except maybe wheel base. That way guys like Max Powers or Warlock with the Rotax motors or the R1 Swap guys could race if they wanted to. If they start a class like that I'm going to put an LS6 in my 450! LOL

The R1 swap must use a chain right? The rotax swap uses a belt drive so they are ok to race I think? Where are the race guys Rog, or Stetler with his R1 swap?

That is what is so stupid about the whiplash rules. If you want to run a street bike engine against a stck UTV engine they will let you as long as it is 1000cc or less. Sorry you guys think this is SPAM. Just trying to get the word out about the crap that Whiplash pulls. No wonder they are the bastard child of Off Road Racing.

Glad to see you back!
You got a lot of attention for a while. lol
Do the rules have to do with the cc limits only? Or do they require a centrifucal sp? clutch with a belt drive?
Like no chain drives for the UTV's

If they are not strict about rules then they don't need technical people to enforce them. Go with the flow bro! I hear the races are fun and inexpensive to run. From what I saw on the video, those things are very beatable.

Yep no rules is easy to enforce. I know several of us questioned allowing this buggy at the first race and were told that they were not going to take our trophies or cash and just wanted to use the race as a testing ground for this thing. That is why no one has said anyting til this point I assume. Seems they kinda slipped under the radar and are now collecting trophies. Nothing against these guys personally. I even sent them a DVD of my in car cam last week. Makes me wonder if Whiplash even realized they gave the trophy to them. Maybe they were not suppose to get it. The ppl passing the trophies out at the last event were not the owners or ppl in the know as far as I can tell. I don't know everyone so maybe I am wrong.

most rules say you have to have the stock engine cases and be under 1000cc
Obviously a rotax is not a stock engine case, the buggy doesn't even fit into the sideXside class. I should be able to race before them. But, if they want to look stupid and win trophies like that, the only people they impress are themselves.

I e-mailed a couple of friends that are involved with these things, probably the ones who trophied. I asked them to come on board and exsplain the rules and converstaions they had to get to race. One of these guys is a Rhino guy and a prowler fan. So hopefully he will give us the real story.
