I AM SURE THIS HAS BEEN GONE OVER MANY TIMES BUT COULD SOMEONE DIRECT ME TO THE THREAD WITH THIS INFO?
Adjusting Valves
How Often Are You Supposed To Adjust The Valves & Does Anyone Do It Themselves? It Will Cost Me $120 @ The Cycle Center. I Am Extremely Broke Right Now & I Am Wondering If The Valves Being Out Of Adjustment Could Cost Me Top End Speed. I Have Lots Of Questions. Anyone Have Any Answers?

i adjust mine frequently (every 3 trips or so). but there are plenty others who have never adjusted their valves and have had zero problems nor have they had any loss in performance. so i think you will be ok not adjusting them.

I have lost top end speed so i was wondering if the valves could cause that. It isn't smoking & the power seems to be there. I just can't get the top speed i had before. Thanks for the info shonuff.

The top speed issue may be coming from your belt. When was the last time you changed it????

i have a new belt i carry along with me for emergencies. I really dread changing it, but i guess it is better to change it in the garage than on the trail. Thanks guys.
