Speed Governor
I recently rolled my bone stock Rhino. There are not any aftermarket parts on it and it does not have many hours on it either. I took it out again after my incident and now the top speed is 26 mph. It feels like the governor is kicking in and will just not let it go any faster. I don't know if there is a reset button for the fuel pump ar anything or if anyone else has had this problem. It was running perfect before but now this. Usually most of the driving is mountain road driving at pretty low to moderate speeds. Anything will help, I wanted to try this before I drop way too much money to take it in to a shop.
Thank you.

a couple of things, unhook battery for a while and try again.
unplug the rev wire, green one coming from under air box drivers side of motor through/ near oil filter/starter area.
maybe check the gas tank vent check valve near fuel pump.
take cover off of clutch and see if it spins up correctly, belt at bottom at idle and comes near top when revved up.
just some things to look at

Does it sound like it's not reving as hi, or does it seem like it's reving up and not going anywhere?

The engine does not rev out all the way. I don't remember what the RPM was when I was driving it. It almost seems like the black box is cutting out the ignition on it prematurely.

My guess would be the rev wire....

Rolling it over should not have affected the green rev wire. But it's such an easy test try it out and see if any difference. Does it take off normally up to that point, or is it all together sluggish?

well the switch has gotton sticky on many a rhino without rolling over, so rolling over sure could contribute to the problem possibly.

It takes off pretty normal. It does not seem to be sluggish. So it does not seem like it is a lack of fuel or air.

Didn't mean to sound like i was bashing your comment. I had not heard of that problem with the sticky switch before.
