I have rinse them off and no issues in the last 6-7 months, I would say only a true marine gauge Might be better.

Sweet. And for 20 bones it isn't a big deal. This is an electric gauge?

I would call to make sure that the one you want is electric for the small sensor. you can also go to iequus.com to look them up.

The link that's on the front page that Rog put up isn't the right gauge. I bought the gauge off that link and they sent me the mechanical one. Rog, do you have the part number off your reciept by chance?

That I do not, I will see if the back of mine has a number on it. I am sorry about that Dale.

EDIT---- should be 8162

Does the back of yours look like the one in the pic on this link??

Dale,

The Company says, you can get one at Kragen and 8162 is the correct number for the electrical guage.

No worries...I just got off the phone with IEquus and they said the electrical version is part 8262...I have an 8242. I need to find the size and thread pitch of the stock sensor. The guy said if I have that, they can give me a part number that might fit perfectly. I'm pretty sure I saw that somewhere....just have to go hunt for it.

OK, here's what I found out...

OEM sensor is a 1/8-28 BSPT (British Standard Pipe Thread)
The IEquus 8262 is 1/8-27 NPT (National pipe thread?)

The IEquus tech said I'd be hard pressed to find a tap for the 1/8-28 BSPT....but in looking around, it looks like many people have used the 1/8-27 NPT in the stock location with no problems (Teflon tape probably helps). So I'm going to return this gauge and get the 8262 and I should be good. JC Whitney has them for $38.99....bummer that they don't sell them for the $26.99 price for the mechanical.

Rog, you sent me a PM with part number 8162...that's a 1.5" guage....the 8262 is the 2". I'll be looking for the 2" as I'm getting old and don't want to be causing roll-over's from squinting to read the gauge!

UPDATE: Go figure....Amazon.com has them for $29.99 and because I'm a "Prime" member...free two day shipping. Cheaper then the $35.98 I paid at JC Whitney.

iEquus 8262

YEP 2" for sure. Great deal for amazon. Right on. The 1/8" 27 went right in for me, just start it slow, and very little tape.
