Harness Lifespan
Hey guys, I run the Crow 5pt. harnesses and from my understanding all harnesses have a lifespan before they should be replaced. I think its like 2 years or some crazy low number like that. Does anyone here follow that rule? Seems like a scam to sell more to me.

It's like anything else, depends on how much you actually use it and the condition there in. If there taken care of, they can last for years.

Like Mark said, if you take care of them they will last a long time.
I had Crow belts in my sand car for 8 years and they looked brand new, I would have run them another 8 if I had the car.
KJ is also Right on, race organizations have limits on harnesses.

at the end of your harnesses where they atach to the car is the point of inspection not the belt itsilf. Most have a blue or yellow stich across the stiching at that spot if yo can see it time to replace if you cant see it your good.harnesses are like a chain it only takes one bad stich to snap the harnesses and hope your not going end over end at that time!100.00 is cheep ins.

A friend of mine drag races he has to replace the belts every two years. he gave me a set of Simpson 3" that I ran for another year before I replaced them. They were still in good shape but they didn't have pads thats why I replaced them.

2 years in most all racing and a good rule of thumb i feel.
Check em for rips, snags, fraying etc.. If they look worn, change em out.
