Question New member

Just wanted to say hello and if I could ask my first question. I have a 06 660 rhino which is basically stock other than the CDI box. I wanted to change the compression ratio to around 11:1. Good or bad idea?????

Welcome aboard.... If you plan on doing much I highly reccomend a few upgrades. I would put a good rod in and a dlc wrist pin.And a center drive support plate. What piston do you plan to run? All of these mods are not necessary.......but It will keep your reliability

Welcome to the site!!! ya 11:1 compression is no problem. What is your long term goal? 686? exhaust? intake?

Not sure about long time,, just want to get alittle more out of it. I have bumped compression on everything from cars to quads, always felt HP GAIN,, Do you know if the power gain will be felt on this unit by just putting in the 11:1 ratio, stock bore?

do a 10:1 or 11:1 piston with a webcam and webcam valve springs, you get about 8-10 more hp without sacrificing reliability. you will be pleasantly surprised how much better it feels and it will still run on pumpgas..
BTW... welcome to the madness

dont buy my video. it sucks anyway!!!!

you will notice a difference with an 11:1 stock bore piston. but while you are into the motor already you will notice the biggest difference with proper head work. btw I reccomend either a je or cp piston.

welcome to the site!!!

Hang out for a while and read around, If you check back every day you will notice lots of super knowledgeable engine builders come on here and answer questions. Just need to give them a bit to find your question, but they will!

Stick with the CP piston Shonuff is right the best gains you are going to get is outta the head. You can be reliable with 11:1. I dont know what kind of gains you will get out of a piston only but you can get 10-12 outta piston/cam/head work and a good pipe
