Wheelchair buggy with Rhino Suspension?

Hello,

I have been googling my butt off to find a suspension package I can use on my wheelchair buggy.

I think a used stock set up can be made to work.

I'm here to learn as much as I can about the Rhino suspension.

Any advice welcome.

Thanks.

- your best bet is to contact a fab shop and have them build you something.

Hello KJ,

I'm taking the buggy to a shop today to see if they can help. I don't have any fabricating experience and I'm also a quadriplegic so others will be doing the work for me anyway.

Here a some pix of my buggy. I would like to have a suspension to make riding more comfortable, but will probably stay with solid axles for now. The buggy is skid-steer and I want to go with rear-steer.

I live in Redmond, OR.

That thing is a beast, keep us posted on the build. Rhino stock suspension is really in-expensive to buy and test /build with I would thing.

Way to stay in the game!!! If you machine is going to be as heavy as it looks you may consider a heavier sprung shock that the stock one...but the rest of the stock parts should work just fine

Making Progress

Hello,

My buggy conversion is underway. Due to budget issues I decided against using any suspension. Looking back now, it was a bad idea because the ride would be brutal without it. So the build is on hold until I can get the parts I need. It seems like I take one step forward and then two back.

I'm planning to use a linear actuator to operate the rear-steer. I want to use Rhino front a-arms and steering components on the back of the buggy. I'll probably use rear a-arms up front as the front wheels don't turn.

I will need to copy the mount points from the Rhino to keep the geometry the same. I need to know some dimensions such as how far apart the arms are mounted, are the mount points aligned vertically, and the location of the upper shock mount.

So I'm looking for used parts to complete the build. Other than ebay, are there any good sources for stock parts. I have looked at the "for sale" section of this site already.

Any help would be appreciated.
