How to pull the engine in an 06 660?

Hello, new to rhinos. I just bought an 06 with a hole in the case. Anyone have a link to show me how to pull the engine out? Thank you!

1. Pull all the wiring and plumbing first
2. remove the center section where the tunnel is...makes things easier.
3. Remove the main thru bolt on the front motor mounts and the 8mm head bolts.
4. From under the car remove the 2 rear motor mount bolts.
5. Pull the boot back on the front drive shaft at the engine so the shaft will seperate.
6. Pull up on the front of the engine until the front drive shaft splits by the U joint. When it slpits you will be able to lift the engine right out.

Its about a 30 minute job once you have done it a couple of times

OK, I have all the plumbing and coolant lines, oil lines, electrical disconnected and marked. I took off the carb and the center thing over the tunnel, I took off the exhaust. I pulled out the long bolt on the front of the engine motor mount things and underneath got the two back motor mounts. I am ready to lift up on the engine I think? Could you expand on the part about the front driveshaft and rear driveshaft please? I have read some things online about taking bolts off the front or rear diffs? And the yamaha book says to pull the rear tires and remove rear diff? Another silly question if I may?: how heavy is this thing?, can I pull it by hand?, or do I need to rent an engine hoist? I bought this rhino already blown up, there is a hole in the case by the rear driveshaft. I'm thinking this motor is junk and now I'll be looking for another but not until I at least get this one out and see how bad it is. Thanks again!

I have never messed with the diffs when pulling an engine but you can. The most I would do to the diffs is on the front diff remove the rear bolts and then loosen the front bolt. That will allow the front to drop just a little and will give you a little more room on the drive shaft.....Did you get the 2 small 8mm bolts on the front motor mounts? The motor weights about 160 pounds. It will lift right out.

oh boy. anyone have a stock 660 engine for sale?

I tried to post some pictures of the huge holes blown out of the bottom of the cases but it says I need to have ten posts before I can!

I got the engine lifted out today.. Thanks very much for the help. Now I need to find another engine to fit my 2006 660 rhino....

Is this hole normal?

better ventilation?

And how come there are large chunks of metal sitting inside the intake?

Thanks.
