4x4 R1-Rhino Go R1 and keep the 4x4 like me...

yes,you can keep it all....they have a manual locking diff in the front instead of the electric unit of a yamaha, but thats the only difference, sorry...a brute force quad has an electric locker, which is probably what you'll find as a doner vehicle, but none of that matters, connect the drive shafts and you should be good to go with 4x4 and hi and low gear...I'd bet the clutch would work better in the rhino with a brute because its a lighter vehicle too...teryx's seem to be reporting, more than normal, alot of clutch and belt issues..

family wagon What's the deal with the kawi motor, what r the cc and can that keep the 4 wheel drive and low and high gear ?

Trooper522 I would drop a rotax or even the Kawi engine in it. The rotax seems to be the most popular but, if it alot easier to install the kawi in it I would go that route..those are some good engines.

I've seen 04 or newer grizzlys go for under 2500 in running shape, the 660 out of them is a direct bolt in...an easier transplant in my opinion...the brute will take some fabrication and engineering....Powerplay is his handle I believe on this site, he lives by you and has a dealer license to buy crashed and repo'd bikes and might even be able to get a good deal on a rotax...If I was going to do it I would toss out the 660 as an option and go with a brute or rotax, its all a funtion of the big dollar....ebay,craigslist has some decent deals...the crashed bikes with bent frames are the best bet and cheapest, but u cant resale the chassis because its bent, just depends on the deal...cameron.

moose6054 Where would I begin looking for either the 660 or the brute?

well, you can get kawasaki brute force bikes repo'd or crashed for cheap these days, throw one of those in it with rejet kit and pipes and it should run hard and cheaper than a rotax too...

waytay well I would give that one too the wife and go buy a teryx or artic cat!!! If wife says hell no then put a rotax in it.. You will never regret the switch I am sure!!

family wagon I guess it depends on what kind of riding you plan on doing. I have a 660 with bolt ons and I still want more power so if it was me and money would let me I would love to do the 800 rotax swap. Must of the places I go are more of a open area, so faster is better !
