ChinaPits

I'm just about to lay down 3 bones on a china pit bike for my 7 year old son. It's got alot of extras (at least he says so - I've never shopped for a new chinapit).
It's got 12" wheels, a bigger rear sprocket, he upgraded the drums to disc brakes on it. Put Acerbis plastics and One industries stickers on it.
It's a Ricardo. Anyone heard of Ricardo? What brand chinapit would you all look for if you were in the market for one?

When I owned a Speed/stereo shop back in Illinois I sold the chino stuff for a while. You will always be messing with them-screws fall out, won't stay running etc. The $800 you'll spend on the Honda is a way better investment. A few years from now you can sell the Honda (maybe you get $500 for it) The chinese POS will go in the trash, either way your spending $300! Do you want to him to ride it or watch you work on it?

Not sure what you have done to your Crf50. For all I know you have a lot of extras but I just picked up a stock 05 CRF50 for $500.00 in perfect cond. with training wheels. that would cost over $150.00 just for the training wheel set. This was a little 8 year old girls bike and now she is moving on to a quad for the sand.

The deals are out there. I would save a few hundred more and get the honda.
I'm not saying his CRF50 for $800. is a rip off, That's actualy the average going price. I'm just saying that there are always deals if you just keep looking.

Thanks to all the hard work from Todd at www.151fab.com for building my rhino!

Well, I'm finding Hondas all over craigslist for $850-$1000
There are the chinadolls all over craigs from $100(needing parts) to $700.
I think for $300 this will be a good deal. I THINK I want my son to learn on a bike before I go putting him on a quad. That's how I learned (of course there were no such thing as quads when I was his age) but I think a kid should start there anyway. How about you all?
