Well if you really want to mod it now, get the carb since the fuel management upgrades for the fuel injection will not be out for some time. Other than that, everything else should work on it without issue.

I personally would like to have fuel injection...jetting is a PITA.

I would go with the FI model. I drove one at the dealership and their fast little bastards. They may only go 55 MPH right now, but the potential is definately there to go faster and beat Hapa in his AC!!!

Lot of sub 9000.00 deals on the carb model but if you want a real answer ask s2k1 since he just bought one.

Said the 09 was faster than the 08, imagine when they get adjustable fuel management figured out......no more brass!

If you want to go fast right now, buy the 08. Then put some carbs, cams, and an 840 kit on it.
If you can wait for more EFI programmers for the 09, buy an 09. Or, if you're a baller, buy an 09 and put an aftermarket ECU on it, problem solved.

By the way, I have an 09. They don't go 55mph. Mine goes 50mph indicated on the money when the rev limiter kicks in.

WOW umm ok.

Nonetheless, I say go fuel injections, fuel mods should not be too far off, I know Muzzys has an inline controller right now.
