Info from a friend of mine
he new Commander is 58.5 inches wide. Not much different from the XTZ, and the Can Am's wheelbase is only .78 inches different than the XTZ's. Height is 72 inches on the Cammander with the seats lower, so there is a good point for them.
Overall, the XTZ will hold it's own in most areas except acceration as the CA is geared to reach only a top speed of 70mph, but it does it quicker than the XTZ.
What I don't like about the CA is it's cheesy plastic. It looks and feels much like a toy. The side panels are single thickness around the op compartment and it just seems flimsy. It does weigh 50lbs less than the XTZ and carries 2 more gallons of fuel.
Here's the biggie, Can Am is made in Mexico. The Rotax motors which used to be made in Austria, are now being over 85% produced in Mexico according to the last press release I've seen.
I think this machine will be a RZR-S killer, but just wait for what Arctic Cat has planned...The AC 951cc motor has so much untapped potential in power while the CA 976cc motor is a stroked 800R motor. And the 800R motor is well known for being already pushed to it's limits.
If you were climbing rocks in Moab that the Visco-Lock won't touch. I've had quite a bit of experience with visco-lock and hate it. It works AFTER the tire starts spinning while the manual diff lock on our ACs locks when we lock it.
