Chevy 2500HD info

Ok I know this is not a diesel forum but spank away

I have a 05 2500Hd Duramax. I have a afe intake, banks exhaust, banks sixgun tuner with Pda on the dash. My current problem is that twice lately when on highway i punched it at about 65 mph and it just fell on its face for a split second and my chk idiot light came on. My pda tells me the codes and I can clear them. This code is just telling you something is wrong but not what it is. it felt like the tranny farted. After the first time i pulled into a parking lot parked in front of a curb item and pushed on the gas and it would not even go over the curb. I turned the motor off and re-started and cleared code and it was fine after that. Next time same thing happend. this morning i had just headed onto the highway motor was at about 145 debrees not warmed all the way up and it would not shift out of 4th gear it just redlined. had to stop and restart then it was fine... also as a quick note i also keep having the egr code and a turbo code pop up once in a while also...any thoughts

I have an 06 2500 HD and felt it lost power when i nailed it to pass a car it was the egr code and had to have dealer put in the updated egr program due to not running the cat.

A buddy of mine has an 06 duramax and the afe caused the maf or map sensor to fail. called afe and they sent him a new tube and dry air filter the oil on the filter messes up the sensor. That what was causing the code for egr and turbo... hope this helps

I was thinking the same thing, as Jim

i have the Banks stuff on motorhome, I had to do something it was not towing the way i wanted it to. Your truck should have plenty of balls stock.

keep in mind if it seems trans related it could be, my D-Max was doing a similar thing going into limp in cuz the 4th and 5th gear clutches were burnt up. The output sensor was reading more rpm than the input thus forcing it into limp in mode and no power cuz limp in sticks it on like 3rd gear or something. just another idea. please let us know when you find out.
also make sure you are replacing your fuel filter about every 7-10k miles since you have the banks on it, Anytime you put a controller on it it demands more fuel and will lay down at times if it cant get it.

The truck already has the banks stuff on it, it has awesome power despite when towing I cant use the upper levels Jim. I am having trouble with what is listed above.

I have not changed fuel filter in more miles than that, will have to change....what you described above actually is very close to what is happening....I stopped by chevy dealer today to pick up exhaust manifold for my work truck today and the service guy said " we dont care if you have banks stuff on their" because they install it too so dont worry about it. I have a couple issues I beleive. Thanks guys for info!!!
