Lowrance 540C Antenna

So where Are you guys mounting you antenna????? I see tresles has his on the roof.......Cant see Brians, Or Jimmyz's. Can they be concealed under the hood? The roof of my rig already looks like a cop car with a couple different whip/antenna's........Anyone????

We do them under the hood on the ShocK Cross bar and we have had no issues.

Hey Jim I read some where that those use a 5 volt input so you cant just cut the plug off.I guess there is a resister built into the plug. Cant remember if it was here or rf.net. something to look into

We mount them on top of the stock Battery Box Lid. We've installed at least six of them that way. You do have to install a cut off switch for the GPS, when you turn off the GPS the Antenna is still powered. Its OK to keep the switch on for a trip but after waitting a few days it will drain your battery.

OK... Just like Jimmy said...

We cut the cig cord and add a toggle switch no issues, we didn't find any resistors in the cig plug.

The antenna is mounted with sheet metal screws on the removable ring.

Sorry was up in the snow all day yesterday with the family.
