An HID will throw light further, however, I have the 40" LED bar and you would be hard pressed to out run the light that it produces.

The Rigid E-Series LED light bars are bad ass. If cost is not a factor in this decision I would say hands down LED. Less wattage, brighter, low profile, and you can shoot the lights with a 12 gauge shot gun and tie it behind your truck for a night ride.

If cost is a factor I'd still say take a close look at them. I have 4 / 7 inch HID's and still want the light bar. Just trying to get Rigid to sponsor me!!!

i was going to get the 42 inch vision x l.e.d. bar. or 4 8500 8inch vision x h.i.d.s. i have had the h.i.d.s before and they are great but i think i am going to go with the 42 l.e.d.

I would go withthe ESeries from Rigid over the VisionX! The E-Series has brighter diodes with better color rendition and light output (Lumens)

But I am still an HID guy myself although it is a toss up.....I am leaning towards really wanting LED for the wattage draw!!

hold off on your buy, We are going to do a LED shootout or testing between the E-Series and the vision X at the beginning of next month for utv chat. we will get the lumens, kalvin scale draw and pictures at extended lenghts. probably the 30 vs the 32 and if I can get a 40 we will test both of those too

you know i held out for a led bar, for a year and finally said f/it and had a light bar with 6 4" built kragens, it probably has more light than a led bar for about 70-75% of the cost when all said and done. i have to add a second bat as well, for all the goodies not just the lights. so it depends, the led bars are seriously sick, but so is a bad ass hid bar. depends on what your willing to spend, either way your gonna be happy with the light as long as you do your research. i just can't justify what they charge for these lights when kragens are 99$ ea.
