We cut the end off the wire and recrimped the end. Orvac,s in fullerton sell new ends for $5 bucks. There is a special crimp tool, not to expensive.

I was just getting ready to ask the same question. I just installed a new Kenwood in the rhino, and I think I am going to put the antenna on the cross bar of the cage right behind the front seats, and I wanted to drill a hole and run the wire in the cage, but I was afraid of not being able to run the cable all the way through. Then I was thinking that I want to do a bed delete 4 seat cage soon, and I would have to cut the end off and re run the wire anyways. So, I am going to do like GregC, except run it down to the engine compartment and run the base of the frame up to the dash...just what I schemed up so far??????????
