Engaging 4x4/Dif switch problems

Hi all, I am a farmer in South Africa and own a Rhino 2008 700 EFI. The engaging of 4x4 and difflock on the dashboard switch is'nt working - agents cant help me and want me to replace both switch and server motor for $650 and wont provide any guarantee that its going to solve issue - does anyone have any advice / experience with similiar issue ?
Initially would press 4x4 engage button and machine would only engage after a couple of minutes. Lately Diff lock light stays on permanently however neither 4x4 or diff is engaged..

Re-engage 4WD and the diff lock drive it around a bit, then disengage the diff lock while driving in a straight line without any throttle application, the light should go off after a few seconds, sounds like something internally is bound up like you engaged the system while the rear tires were spinning or something of that nature. Once you get the diff lock light to go out then disengage the 4WD as well. You may need to check the fuses for the 4WD system, as well as maybe disconnect the battery for the computer to reset, maybe just a glitch in the system. hard to really diagnose not having the unit available.

No problem, I know a few times on mine it would seem to get stuck in 4WD for a while after disengaging the system. Its one of those things you gotta deal with having an electronic controlled vehicle.
