Top speed ???

Hey guys quick question, what is your top speed with the engine swap? i am getting 65ish. it hits 58 real fast then just flattens out. is this normal? should it be clitched diffrent right now i have the dalton spring in. any how wondering if this is normal? or should i be going faster.. it seems the engine could pull longer if it were clutched /geared diffrent.

That's about what I'm was getting with the Dalton kit green spring no Weights. I just finished up tonight installing an 650 Helix and added aluminum weight and I hit 65 and ran out of room not hitting the rev limiter like I have before. I was really impressed with the improve mid rang this gave me. I'll let you know after Glamis this weekend how it worked.

$35 buck from can am, off an 07 Outlander 650. I found I get less belt slip with this set up because of better belt pinch and you can add weight to your Dalton arms or even still run with the stock Outlander arms since this mod gives you more bottom end. I'm going to install the steel riovits in the Dalton arms next time.

I'm about to do that helix mod also. Mine tops out in the sand around 65 also
that really is the gearing more than anything. Bigger tires will allow a higher top speed, but the rotax is more a torque motor than top speed.
a turbo would fix that though.

I had the 650 helix in my turbo rotax.....it doesn't work,,,reved out to quick, put the 800 helix back in works great.650 might work prefect in a N/A motor.

Did you calibrate the speedo yet? Gear ratio in the rotax is not the same as a Rhino?

Well I'm going to try and put the heaviest weights in my Dalton arms and see what happens I like how the belt slips less with this set up. I'm also installing the Tan spring that will bring my stall speed down from 2200 to 1900 RPM this might hurt me in a drag Race but will make it easier to drive slow speed and not so jerky. I hope this set be fine in my non turbo'd Rotax. Just doing a little R&D. Now some one needs to make and overdrive like you can get for the Teryx. I think that's a Job for MRRPM.
