Rotax Clutch Setups

What are you guys running as far as clutch set ups? I have a bone stock Renegade set up in mine. I am running +6" longtravela and 27" bighorns. I definately need to gear it down for the type riding that I do. I squeezed 67mph out of mine on the blacktop with a gps. I dont mind giving up some top speed to pick up some low speed technical trail capabilites. Any thoughts would be appreciated.

I have ordered a 650 helix to install. I have read that it increases belt pressure and effectively lowers the gear ratio. If it does, that may be my ticket.

I like the dalton spring in the primary and the red Epi secondary. The 650 Helix sounds good too.

2nd place is the first loser!!

Were a whole lot faster than you think you are.

i put in the 650 Helix to bring up my rpm wot brought it up to about 6800 rpms
then i put the epi red spring in the secondary to bring it up to about 7100 rpm in high gear.....changed my belt to the new epi belt (special compond) climbs like crazy

Feels more torque good grab so far so good

LV, did you start out with an outlander or a gade? Where is the best place to get the red EPI secondary?

LV.......the guys on highlifter say to stick with the OEM belts for the best results so keep us posted on that issue.

Also, they also say they have had issues with burning belts when changing out the secondary spring. Most say change the primary and leave it. I am curious how this does for you long-term.

I know you have to consider the different types of terrain, but seems like the sand and the mud are hard on the belts!
