new guy first ride first impressions

OK, took out the new 700 EFI for the maiden voyage this weekend. now i have never driven any UTV before this so the only things I had to go on were the reviews and research I did prior to purchase. location was up past Duck Creek Utah, mountain trails This machine is brand new and totally stock. it did not accelerate as quickly as i guess i expected and it topped out about 42 mph I can see where the duners might want to bump up the top end but it was plenty fast enough for the tight mountain trails. I seems to push a little at slow speeds unless i tapped the brakes to set the front tires. i found the stock suspension really not that bad, i had expected a lot rougher ride. i was impressed with the low end torque and the thing climbed without effort every hill i asked it to. the only time i needed to lock the front diff was when on a down hill i slid the right side tires into a bottomless wash out and tipped it on its side. i locked the diff, cranked the wheel to the right and it pulled itself right out of the hole and back on four wheels. i also found if you run over a 3' long by 1 1/2" diameter branch just right it will pop right up through the passenger floor board. i will be looking for some guards. all in all i put 50 miles on the machine in a day and a half and found it to be more fun than a human should be allowed. I will be taking it out to the high desert this weekend to push it some more i give it a 10 on the fun meter and a 9.5 on the performance meter (can never have enough power/speed)

Right on.

Your screenname is gonna get old after a month or two

I'm in a similar boat. All my friends had Rhinos, so I recently got one as well. WAAAY too much fun. Wish I'd have gotten one sooner.

Mush,
i am in henderson, i have not yet ridden around here. i am going camping with my brother in-law this weekend up near Alamo. i have been away from the offroad deal for about 10 years so i am not to sure of where you can ride around here any more. back in the day when i was quad'n we spent most of our time up at armagosa dunes. i live on the top of greenway and back in the day i could ride strait from my garage to the desert now there are thousands of house between me and the dirt.

Mark,
i know the whole money pit deal i have a harley. but i am going to try and resist the temptation with the Rhino (yea right)
