Light Mount Suggestions

So I just picked up 4 of the 4" Checker HID's and I need some suggestions. I am either going to mount 2 on the front bumper and 2 on the a-pillars, or mount all 4 up top.

Here's my dilemmas though. I don't have the clearance in my toy hauler to have a full blown light bar. I also don't want to go the expensive route and put in a light bar with an actuator and all that stuff. I am wondering if any of you have designed a bar that sits lower on the stock cage? Maybe run from a-pillar to a-pillar with four tabs?? Don't really know how well that will work. I have a couple inches to spare above the top of the cage and still be able to get it in the toy hauler. I am also going to have two different aluminum roofs made as well. One shorter one for when I am running just the stock cage and another full roof for when I have the rear cage on. Any ideas on what route to go with this??

As far as splitting the lights up, are there any other bumper and a-pillar mounts than the MFS ones?? I know they look the best but I don't want to spend $90 a set. There has to be others out there that function just as well that aren't as costly??

Let me know what you all think. Thanks.

Blake

for mounting, the higher the lights the better you will see, when you mount low, you will get shadows, and other stuff that plays with your eye sight.....

i'd mount 2 high and 2 low. if you try running the high ones when its dusty you won't be able to see a thing except a wall of dust. the low ones seem to help in those conditions.

futsa!

I know that the higher up you mount the lights the better....

But I have 4 of the Trail Tech MR16 HID lights. I mounted all 4 on the front bumper.... WOW. No problems with shadows or anything else. They work great.

Actually I just put the other 2 lights on last week so I dont have any pics. If I remember I will snap a few tomorrow.... I mounted 2 in the middle and the other two on the outside and turned them outward. It helps when I am turnig to see where I am going to turn. I have 3 flood and 1 spot light..... I am very happy. You can run all 4 lights with the stock battery.
