Servicing

I've got to replace the exhaust bracket in my 07 Rhino, which involves taking off the cage. Since I'm going to be doing that, I figured I should do a full service while I'm at it. (I store offsite, so it's difficult to git 'er done.). It has a little under 1000 miles on it.

1. Adjust the valves. What tools do I need for this?
2. Change the fluids: oil & differential. Recommended brands?

Is there anything else I should do, i.e. replace the spark plug, etc?

Your advice is appreciated.

feeler gauges, pre-bent ones help, you need to take the fan off to turn motor over.

I recommend amsoil, yamaha semi syn is alright.

spark plug, yes while your there. iridium replacement , 18mm socket

measure the belt width. 1.2" minimum, I think for a 660.

just a general go over for nuts bolts... etc

check for cracks under rear drivers side motor mount.

Change the oil and filter, clean the air filter and since you will have the cage off replace the spark plug... The Iridium plug is a good choice.

But I would save my time and money on the rest...... The valves will be fine. I think Yamaha only recomended that as a way to screw you out of money on the service end....

Close to 4000 miles and I havent done shit to mine. I have changed the oil once or twice and cleaned the air filter once or twice.... I dont even check the oil on mine..... It runs perfect and doesnt use any oil. I think most people on these forums over service their Rhinos.....
