One way bearing

After self diagnosing my problem as a worn one way bearing l proceeded to repair same. Now l have never worked on an automotive part before but having the parts manual and thinking why not, l started. To cut through all the yada, yada, yada. Put the new bearing in, checked the belt, was good, checked the clutch, looked good. Put everything back together and now it runs worse!! Leave it to me..... Still loses engine braking power down hill and now it takes a lot of gas to get it to move! Once moving it is alright but doesn't seem right. Any and l mean any help you can give is greatly appreciated, Ernieg
