I need a clutch question answered QUICK!

My homie installed a KMS Sheave, weights, and blue duners spring into his 06 660. Gets it going and blows a belt fairly quick. installs a new belt and it blows again!!

WHAT IS THE PROBLEM??

Possibly the sheave wasn't installed correctly, did he make sure to keep it pressed together and it slide over the star correctly until the nut was tight?
and install the washer?

only thing i can think of is either one of the sheaves not being pressed all the way into the splines like mark said. the missing shim shouldnt make the belt blow that fast, usually takes at least several weekend trips for the belt to blow due to a missing shim.

Sometimes

Check all four surfaces on both sheaves and make sure there are no scratches or gouges that would tear up the belt. If they are good sometimes as your installing the sheave if you don't hold the cam plate closed the wieghts disslodge or fall out of position but that usaully doesn't tear up belts it usually just causes Rhino to not have top speed.

I justed talked to him on the phone and he said he held the plate in and installed the washer, I asked if he checked the front spring for old belt strings and he said no, I told him it was probably full of string and he needs to clean them out. The front is probably not opening which is stretching and heating the belt up.
