Certified UTV training?

I知 a Govt. employee in charge of 300ish pieces of equipment/vehicles which includes two quads that I知 replacing with UTV's-Rhinos.

Our operators must have Certified ATV Training before getting on the quads but now our Risk Ad.Min & HR are asking about training for the UTV, "it痴 not a quad." is the response I知 getting.

I offered up my son to show them how to drive one but that didn稚 go over well so does anyone know if there is "Certified UTV Training" offered anywhere in SoCal? I知 also sending this question to Yamaha since they seem to be at the eye of the law suit storm and get their take on it.

Personally I think that the ATV cert is acceptable but must prove to management that there are no there alternatives available first.

did they get "Golf cart" certified or "Mule/kubota"???? That is how I would approach it. same as a golf cart with a gas motor and ROPS cage.

Never had a Govt. job eh Rog?? We dont wipe w/o certified training..

A while back we had an employee crash a quad, broke his back, the lawyer said, "Was he ever trained to operate a quad?" & "Has anyone who operates one of your quads ever attended ATV Safety training?"

So after Cal. OSHA, insurance company, & the personal lawyers get done with you.........well you can imagine how much that cost let alone the injury incurred by the rider.
And with todays ambulance chasers running running prime time ads on TV about "Have you ever been injured in a Rhino roll over?" I cant just dismiss the concerns management has about safety and or limiting liability.
The safety & limiting liability issuie Im trying to address is getting our operators off the ATV's and into a cage. The operators are not offroaders, they're "Normal" people that have to ride an ATV to do their job.

Thanks Hapa, Ill check there. I also contacted Yamaha, theres a story Ill save for later.

Yes, yamaha gave coupons for free ATV training, and yes the wife and I took it, it was pretty dumb but, we got the cert.

I also did Boat operator training through the Coast guard, free

Gov, haha yes 21 years served my firend.

Do they have drivers licenses? They are trained

Same laws of gravity apply in a side x side than that of a 4x4 truck.

If anything, you can make a how NOT to video!

Hapa- ''When I checked into my motel, I said to the lady at the desk:

"I hope the porn channel in my room is disabled."

"No," she said, "it's just regular porn, you sick bastard."
