Is this Common...

I know this subject has been covered 10 times here i'm sure, but i dont know if the noise i'm hearing is the same. Keep in mind this only happens on pavement, cement etc. When making hard slow turns ( like driving it in the garage or through the neighborhood. I can hear a loud snapping noise ( which sounds to me like rear differential ). I know these things have locked diff's so is it normal for them to snap like that when loaded (binding??). Only happens on the slow tight turns. Not when turning at speed, ( or least i can't hear it then).

i read all these stories about the strength of the rear diff's and it's hard to believe i've damaged mine, all stock drivetrain except cdi box. I know it's hard on gears being locked and me trying to make a tight turn on pavement. But i can't be the only one driving my shit in and out of the garage......thanks again

the diff is only locked when you put it in 4wd and lock the diffs so they should not be locked at all times

It is a straight up spool....Its even got the ring gear welded on and not bolted.....Very simple piece. The only thing I dont like is its not between tapered bearing so nothing controls the side load but shims...Ive been in mine twice cleaning out sand
