well i'm done. it officially kicked my azz. i had it hooked between a fork truck and a genie boom. it was lifting the genie boom off of the ground. that thing ain't coming out of there. i'm just going to order a new outer joint to put on the used shaft that i bought off of ebay.

wow.... usually you just put the shaft in a vise and hammer off the end with a hammer.

thats what i first tried to do then i resorted to the other things. only thing i can figure is when the axle snapped it must have done something with the c clip on the end of the axle shaft.

Chain it to a post and then to the fork lift, leave a little slack and the gun the fork lift, should provide enough shock load to pull it appart...

yes, it can be done, but it is a pita to get the first two out.

when beating on it, you have to hit the center star only.

i think in the morning i'm going to hook it between the explorer and something. try to give it a good shock pull. just don't know what i'm going to hook it in between of now. i'd say at this point even if i get it apart it is scrap. i have beat the hell out of this thing. its just a case of i'm not going to ket it get the best of me now...
