Stock axles

Well I pulled apart my stock axles yesterday to install my new axles for my new long travel.......and I have NEVER heard anyone speak of a snap ring on the inner plung sideof the CV. Well my buddy asks me did you get those apart??? I was like yea why??? He says...did you take the CV apart and take the snap ring off? Well on the first 2 I just smacked the star with the hammer and they came right offThe second two I took apart. I was wondering where the hell the inner clip was on the first 2....as long as I have been on the forums I havent heard about a snap ring

Theres 3 clips total per complete axle assembly.....

two on one side (which have to be removed to pull CV apart) and one on the other end (which CV gets hammered off of)

sometimes that clip gets buried in the groove and the metal almost grows around it. I have had to work that clip to get it out before. after you reassemble the cv, it is the last thing you put on to hold it all in there.

Pain in the ass....naaa. Messy Yes. Once I found out that there was some clip it came apart very easy. Try taking gorrilla axles apart to work on. Those are a pain in the ass.
