5 miles on the free way
My son and I camped in Dove Spring CA last weekend. We rode (him on CRF250 me in the Rhino) to Randsburg for lunch. It was about a 40 mile one way trip. On the way back we wanted to go a different way. Some how we ended up in Last Chance Canyon. by the time we got to the bottom we were at RedRock Randsburg rd not the 14. After a good laugh we realized we would not make it all the way back with the fuel he had on board. So I decided we would find a trail next to the road and make our way to Jawbone and fuel up. Well that piece of shit trail ended about a mile down.
1st. Leave my son there take the rhino the hour and half back to camp and get the truck and go get him... he would have to sit there about 2 1/2 hours..
2nd. Leave his bike, do the same as above
3rd. hop on the road jam down 3 or 4 miles to highway 14 and go south 2 or so miles to jawbone.
we chose #3 Thank god i have the sheave so our top speed was 52mph on the freeway. We passed probably 15 cars going the other direction but not 1 passed us going the same direction. I'll tell you what, driving the Rhino down the freeway was pretty fun and looking in my mirror seeing my 14 year old son in full gear behind me was a bit of a crack up.... i hope he doesn't think that he can do this all he wants..
What do you think the CHP would have done? Oh, I had a loaded 40cal in the glove box
