Don't let the CPSC determine UTV safety standards!
Ok.....after reading the entire "Where did DSD's chick go?" thread, I feel both dirty (not always a bad thing) and somewhat boring by posting this, but it's still an important deadline for anyone who is in the UTV industry......
I am not sure if this has been posted already or not, but figured it can't hurt to post again.......we have until the middle of March to comment in regards to the CPSC deciding they are going to make their own rules for UTV's, rather than allowing the OEM's to collectively come up with safety standards for the UTV (RUV) undustry. I personally don't want the government screwing up future UTV production the way they did the whole lead paint ban thing with the kiddie quads! The OEM's are doing a good job coming up with proper safety standards, and they are far more educated and familiar with their machines than the CPSC is!
Once again the government is trying to control what we can and cannot buy. I'm relatively new to the ATV/UTV world I've had an ATV or UTV since 2008 so not that long. However I do know that its not a sports car and if driven as such will probably rollover. Common Sense is really lacking in today's society and people try to make up for the lack of it by trying to sue everyone or every company they can think of just to try and get money so they can be lazy. I've watched hundreds of videos on youtube of people purposely rolling an ATV/UTV and can't seem to find a reason why someone would do that to such an expensive piece of equipment. I just wish I had the money to waste on destroying perfectly good equipment like they do.
The Yamaha Rhino has enough stickers and warning plates on it that if someone drive it wrong its their own fault.
