Acts like its in reverse when its in drive

Hey there
i have an 04 660, and i took it for a ride today and the reverse light on my dash stays one when i put it in H or L. and it acts like its in reverse because ill be going down the road and at 25 the rev limiter will kick in like its in reverse. i dont no if my CDI box is messed up or maybe the switch in the tranny is messed up. i live in PA and its been snowing and crap and has been cold for a while i dont no if the switch is sticking or something because of that. if anyone has had or heard of this problem id appreciate some advise.

its your reverse sensor wire. It is located just below the stock air box on top of the motor. Its a balck plug that goes into the motor, I think its a geen and white wire. You can pull that plug and see if you can repair it. Or you can just cut the wire and ground it out. Now the motor wont know when its in reverse nor will the light work anymore but it will bypass the plug issue.

Thank You for your post. It solved my problem. I threw a hidden switch into the mix and now when my son goes for a spin, he can only go 23 mph, and when I want to play, straight to ground. It's a blast. Thanks again.
