Question Need a diagnosis, Doctor.

Gotta 07 rhino 660. My rear drive line is loose where it goes into the rear diff.
Still drives but makes a little metal to metal sound, but not like brakes sound.
I'm hoping this isn't in need of a new rear diff. Any suggestions?

I feel like we change a rear drive shaft this season in a 660. The diff mount can come loose and or the drive shaft teeth get messed up.

Is anything loose down there? rear diff, engine mounts? rear drive shaft?

Some times the rear pinon nut backs off and comes loose. Drop the rear diff and check the nut and Boss splines. Good luck.

I only noticed the drive line had a little wiggle to it. As far as I know everything else is tight.

Could this possibly be bad bearings?

Give it a couple days and see who pops up with advice. Qwkrhino may have your answer. It's pretty easy to drop the rear diff and check things out.

Red face

But I'm still gonna check the splines and rear diff for wear and tear, still makes a slight sound but not as bad. Should hold up for the group ride in two weeks.
