Temp Light On

I have a 2007 660 Rhino that is all stock. I havent cranked it up but maybe 3 times since Jan. I fired it up Sunday to take my little girl for a ride and the (H) high, (R) reverse, and the overheating light came on. It would only run up to 25mph which is what told me there was a problem first. I checked the coolant and it was a little low but not under the "LOW" line. I added the proper amount of coolant and about an hour later cranked it up and it says it is hot as soon as you turn the key. This tells me it must be some type of elec. problem since it cant be overheating before it is cranked. I know very little about these UTV's but any help would be appreciated. I have taken really good care of this machine and it only has 500 miles on it and I have owned it since new. Thanks ahead of time.

if this is in the wrong forum area mod's please move it to the correct one.

check out the switch connection under the e-brake and airbox on drivers side. loose connection is common or switch is bad.

if rev and high were on, this also causes the reverse rev limiter to come on, hence the 25 mph.

if you look on pass side, it is a Green wire (with yellow stripe??) with a round cannon plug connector, you can unplug it, then you would have no reverse rev limiter.
all of this may cause the temp light to come on as a warning that something is wrong and not actual overheating, although it still could be.

That makes since to me. I will try that when I get home today and see what we come up with. I will troubleshoot it from there and get back with you. Thanks I knew this would be the place to get some answers.
