Diff lock safety cover

I have a 08 700 SE. While in 4 wheel drive, I can't move the diff lock cover to push the button. I am afraid to force it, don't want to break it. Anyone had this problem?

Never have had that problem. Just spray some wd 40 on there and let it sit. Then play with the switch till it breaks free. Prob just gummed up.

It is a very common problem. It is just dirty! You can use w-d 40 but it is not to hard to take it apart and really clean it. Just be carefull it is spring loaded and the spring could jump out and could get lost. The cover is not even needed for the function of the fwd. It is just a safety feature. I have not heard of anyone breaking the cover by forcing it back so you can return to 2-wd to get back to the trailer after a ride.

correct it really is not needed, just keeps you from pushing diff lock without being in 4WD first. I ran mine for three years with no cover on my Goblin dash
