Ok I'm pretty new to the whole rhino thing ...so bear with me..I was wondering how a stock internal rhino 660 reacts to a port and polish head job??

a good port and polish will give you more power than just a 686 imo, thats how effective it can be. if you combine the two together you can double your stock horsepower.

it does create more heat, but it dosent take much to get the temp back down. i run mine pretty hard and i havent had any overheating issues.

for a 686 (what i think should be done)

102mm compression piston (10:1 for reliability)
connecting rod
stage II cam
cometic gskt kit
port & polished head
high flow air intake (optional)
duals (optional)
carb (optional)

if you are serious about having any engine work done pm s2k1 (benchmark) and he can give you all your options, he has the raw numbers, ive seen his work and you will not be dissapointed. i also hear alot of good things on this board about john at the pro shop, the guys on this board love his work and they know what they are talkin about so you cant go wrong with him. shop them both and ask alot of questions, they know much more than i do.

IMO porting is relative to everything else you do....whats the point in porting if your not going to go with the bigger cam, carb and exhaust....but if all that is being done then porting is going to create your biggest gains.
