Sheave Question

We dont run sand much and was wanting to do a sheave in the next few weeks. Whats the dirt riders opinion on whats the best Sheave for the type of riding we do.

I have about 3000 miles on my Rhino so I was going to change the belt out at the same time...... Should I stay OEM or is there something better??

Thanks for any help, Jeff

modified sheave only gives you top end, if you want to work on the lower end, you will want to change out the secondary spring and rollers.

Fuck'em and feed'em cabbageI have found the richer your friends are.....the more they want you to suck their asses.......I guess these fools havent figured out yet I dont suck ass ~ the bigg anonymous

do yourself a favor... if you get a sheave, get only the KMS modified sheave, and yes those are all the same. almost everyone i know uses this sheave, you will not be dissapointed w it.

I was looking at KMS and Hunterworks - Why is KMS better??

i say kms because everyone runs them and thier opionions are all the same "one of the best mods ive done". and yes i do think you should change out the spring and rollers with a "duners kit", keeps your lower end rpm's higher, longer. you dont just have to run in the sand for this kit to be effective. i run in the dirt from time to time and it works just as good there.
this is what i reccomend you have done...

1. modified sheave (kms)
2. duners kit (blue secondary spring, 14g rollers)
3. oem belt (better than aftermarket)

you will be happy w these mods, best bang for your buck imo.

I have the Hunterworks sheave with half stock roller weights and half 12 gram roller weights, and it does really well in the sand, but recently we went out with some freinds just cruising around in the desert on hardpack dirt, and It was a little high strung for that type of relaxed riding. I would try just a sheave first, and if you find you need more power at certain rpm's, then go with a duners kit or some of the other clutch tuning kits out there.
