They are not a must.....but they sure work alot better than knobbies.....also the buffs up front keep you front end on top of the sand instead of digging in

the group i go with is pretty split. half run paddles the others just run desert tires. but we all dune together. the guys without the paddles just have to choose their lines a little more carefully. it seems that once the rhinos are up to speed(on top of the sand) they all seem to perform pretty close.

futsa!

Paddles & Smoothies

You don't "need" them but then again you didn't "need" the Rhino in the first place did you!!

I agree, definitely not needed but you'd be amazed at how much better the keep you moving. I noticed the biggest difference while taking off. Like the other guys mentioned, the paddles help to keep you from sinking into your own tracks.....it's kind of like you're floating on top of the sand. If you've got the cash go for it but, again, you'll be fine without them.

Here is my 2 cents on paddles...

I constantly her Rhino owners say I can pretty much go anywhere with my Rhino and I only have regular tires.... just air them down. I dont need paddles. That is true. I made 2 trips to Glamis with my Rhino and regular tires and about 6 trips to Pismo. I could pretty much go anywhere. So they were not needed.

Then I got my paddles and smoothies..... WOW. It changed everything. With my regular tires I could go anywhere. With my paddles and smoothies I could actually go duneing...... I could get up in the bowls and I got more speed up so it made for a funner ride. It changes the entire ride. It is much funner with paddles and smoothies......

The best price that I have found is at Sunrise Ford over in Fontana.

The Service Manager is a Glamis guy and he has a Rhino. He said he was not able to find a good price so he started carrying them. He doesnt make much on these. He does it to help out his fellow Rhino Glamis Guys...

He is a good guy. I got 4 Douglas Rokstars (He has Black and red labels too) with smoothies on the front, 7 paddles on the rear, mounted with caps and lug nuts for $575.00. He will sale the paddles and smoothies only for $360.00. They are 25x10x12. Great price and a great guy.
