Stock clutch mods

Post up what works for the dunes and what doesn't! Weights, springs etc.

most 660's

12-14g weights and an EPI blue secondary spring. machined sheave optional for more top speed.

modified 660's, 11-12 g weights and an orange spring.

internal clutch mods maybe also needed with higher powered engines

Bronco clutch is a good mod, and very pricey.

For the every day Rhino owner....

I didnt care for the 12 and 14 gram rollers with the Spring (Duners Kit).... Maybe if you only ride in the dunes it would be ok....

Also I am not a fan of the after market dry clutch set ups....

IMO stick with a KMS or UTVcrap Sheave and use the spacer provided.
It is a good general purpose set up. And it is very reliable.

2006 Rhino 660
BRP Stage 2 CDI
UTVCrap Sheave
4 Seat Cage w/42" Rear PRP Seat
ITP T-7C Wheels (5+2 front offset & 2+5 Rear)
Big Horn Tires (25x8x12 & 25x10x12)
LSR MTS +3 Mid Travel Kit
Bilstein Shocks w/ Eibach Springs 250lb front & 400lb rear

If your running in the dunes I just dont see how that sheeve can be of much help.

I have the ACI silver springs and 14G rollers running a basic 686

Stock sheave? What about the clutch spring (the huge one)?

Actually....I have a kodiac sheeve. It only gives you about another 5 mph...and on a stock motor I wouldnt run anymore than the EPI blue spring. I dont think a stock motor will close the silver one.

Cdi, spot on jetting, exhaust tip and ground welds, open air box. Is it an rpm or hp thing with the silver spring?

Ya know....I'm not sure if its an rpm thing or a torque thing..... I know with my stock exhaust system....it had a hard time getting into the higher MPH range. Once I changed out to the duals and let it breathe it had no problems......going from dune to dune it stays in the power with the stiffer spring
