Modifying the stock carb

anyone here do it themselves? i was talking to a guy who said they remove the restrictions in the stock carb, rejet it and cut holes in the airbox. can't remember the price cuz all that ran through my head was..shit i can do that ...just wanted a heads up on what restrictions he's talking about before i tear it all apart.

never heard of this,,, and i would never just start cutting holes in the air box unless i knew exatly what i was doing. sounds like what you are looking for is a highflow air intake and carb rejet. i would reccomend getting the k&n setup.

i'm not really a fan of K&N. i've actually seen on my diesel excursion how well it filters sand...straight into my turbo. i may look at their set up and see if there is a way to use a foam filter with it. that would be the ticket.
Anyhow the old holes in the airbox deal was something they did on quads to get more airflow. they even sell 1 in foam screens to put into em the holes. it actually helped a lot on quads but i don't really know how restricive the factory airbox is on a Rhino and since from what i read the Rhino already runs lean if your not willing to rejet it then it wouldn't do anything but make you more lean..
doing a lil research on here i came up with something about machining the carb. i'm going to assume it was boring it out and installing a larger butterfly. if thats the case forget it. i was just looking into possibly something i could tinker with and maybe give and get insight on. i may still try to squeeze more info out of this guy tomorrow. he's a really smart guy and has two Corr race rhinos. if it's worth anything i'll post it up here.

yes you can put a UNI on it, no sand from my K&N.

Two CORR race rhino's, hmmm, must not win much.

lol no idea . i've never watched a race . i know he just stepped up and bought 2 class 7 trucks for 100k each so he must be doing something right
i just like the fact he's parting out the rhino's..more parts for me ...at least the ones that still fit a rhino lol

K&N Alternative

If you don't like K&N Tru Flow makes a really nice foam filter set up.

Filter tests

Here is a test/demonstration that we did

"I hope the porn channel in my room is disabled."

"No," she said, "it's just regular porn, you sick bastard."

and to think i thought you were taking a stab at first. ya jeff is cool. have you seen the new race trucks? i've known his son Heath for years. he lives pretty close to me...now back to the subject. i'll find out what they do or have done to the the carb tonight hopefully. if it sounds too involved i may settle and do the alba carb or an aftermarket..like i said though i was kinda intrigued as to what they do to the stock carb and if i was able to post some kind of how to on here it may save some people a few bucks.
