got a "machined" sheave today, think i got screwed!

I bought this off ebay Item number: 360133178819, and well the deal started bad cause he didnt ship it till about 5 days after he said he did , so it finally got here and i was looking it over and didnt see any machining work to it, still looks like stock, so i figured well heck i would take mine out and use my micrometer and check, guess what , both are the same, minus the grooves in my used one..... So my question is where are these normally machined? maybe i am missing it ? i went back and looked at several others and you can clearly see in the rollers where and the in and outside the material has been removed i which to allow the weights to move more.... i also used a digital level to check the angles on each and they are in .01 of each other.... whats the deal? am I looking at the worng area? Please help....

Yes you got screwed, sorry. The machining depends on who did it. The most common part is the outer wall but they can be machined anywhere in the groove. I'm sure someone can post pictures for you.

That is why you should not buy stuff on ebay..... You may pay a little more from a UTV Shop... But you know you will not get screwed. Also if there is an issue with a product you can call them and they will take care of it.... Try that with a guy on ebay. Customer Service is worth the extra coin IMO.

Maybe he screwed up and sent you a stock one by accident..NOT!

Tell him the deal and try and get your coin back then go to a reputable shop and buy a proper one. Good luck

well guys let me start with Chris at benchmark is a GOD!!!! he has heklped me sooo much. Come to find out this is a Grizzly sheave, and you do gain ever so slight, not worth the cash! The seller has lied to me over and over, started with i paid for the item on the 26th of feb and on 3-3-09 i emailed asking where it was at and if he had tracking, he told me it was sent on the 2nd, finally on the 6th it got here with a post mark of the 4th.....hmmmm maybe its me but my math isnt great but that doesnt seem right? next once i got to looking at it it looked stock, so i took mine off the rhino and with the two side by side i meansured them to find them the same. I called Chris and we got to looking at the casting numbers and BOOM there it was , Grizzly not rhino.... I emailed the guy over and over trying to get him to tell me the truth and I told him what i found out. HE SWEARS IT WAS MACHINED ON THE FACE!!!!? he also said that he has sold over 400 of these with no issues, so i brought up to him that his ad said 300, and if this is true why does he have a couple used for sale????? well i filed with paypal and will be sending it back to him monday, Chris is hooking me up with another... I plan to contact ebay cause this guy is comitting fraud....oh well I did install it to try it , and with my GPS i only got 47mph with my stroker motor and black rhino cdi..... no where near the 55 he said i would get. funny thing i was getting 45 before sheave!
