Belt change

Any idea how often you should change the belt on an 07 660. I am taking my clutch apart to clean it and was thing about changing the belt, but at $147.00 I am not going to change it unless I have to. Anyone have the dimensions of these belts. I have about 900 miles on my Rhino.

call HRTmotorsports in ramona ca. or http://www.yamahasportsplaza.com/pag...d/default.aspx, should be able to get belts under a $100
Only use yamaha oem belts and a new one while in there would be a good idea.

Thanks but I am in Canada so I will have to buy one up here. I knew I was going to get the answer change while in there cause I thought the same thing. But was trying to get an idea on what everyone was getting for mileage on the belts.

different for everyone, depends alot on your riding style. im pretty hard on my rhino so i change my belt once a season. others have 2-3 K on thier belts with no issues.

Measurre the width of it. I believe the minimum tolerance in 1.100. I think New is 1.300. Dont quote me on those numbers but I think thats what they are.

If one cannot afford a new belt, can one just use a pair of women's panty hose? Any of you guys here want to lend me a pair of yours?

Tried them already and they don't hold up for any more than 300 or 400 miles and you seem to get a fishy smell inside the Rhino for some reason.HeHeHe

Space shuttle booster o-rings work OK, but they're kinda hard to get.
But don't use 'em in cold weather.

are you sure you did not look up the price for the 700 belt???? the 660 belts are waaaay less.

I agree OEM, I have over 1500 miles on my original belt, almost 800 of it with a HP 686 in it.

like said, it depends on many variables, like type of driving style and terrain, tire size etc...
