mixing stock clutch weights?

i just installed a duners clutch kit on my 660. it only has a cdi and a modifed exhaust tip. i really don't like how high it revs now with the kit. i mainly trail ride with some hills and trips down the roads between trails. if i mix the stock weights with the weights from the duners kit will it make a difference? i don't want to be back to stock rpms...i do want the rpms raised some, just not as much as using all the weights from the kit.

Yes, you can mix the weights. Alternate their positions so the clutch is still balanced when spinning.

well i just got done mixing the stock weights and the duners kit weights. i think it is about perfect now for what i'll be doing with it. my rpms came down but they are still up some from factory. the wind is blowing pretty bad so i couldn't get it past 50 but it felt like there was def more left in her.

well i def liked the feel of the clutch kit. on a downside though i believe i tore out the middle drive gear. i was trying a hill and lost foward and reverse. it doesn't matter if it is in 4 wheel drive or not. neither of the drive shafts will turn. is the middle drive gear about the only thing getting torn out? hopefully i can fix it for about 300. i'm not leaking any oil so i'd say the case is fine.

i dont get something though. the thing pulled all the way back to the truck fine in neutral. if the middle drive gear was hosed up wouldn't it be making a bunch of noise while be towed in neutral?

well i got the front plate off of it and the drive gear is def toast. what holds the drive gear plate in place? is it just the torqz heads? they are still intact but there is part of the material hanging on just flopping around. that part looks like it has about a 12mm head bolt on it. hopefully i didn't hurt the case on it.

There are four 12mm head bolts that hold the bearing support into the cases, you can see two of them in your pics. There are also four torx head bolts that hold the bearing retainer plated to the middle gear support. When the middle gear support breaks, usually, the case breaks where the inner two bolts attach, these are the two bolts that can be seen in your pic.

If you need anything, I have billet middle gear supports, and have OE Yamaha parts at significantly discounted prices.
Good luck.
