A technical question from a newbie

OK guys I am thinking of adding more power to my 08 700. As look I see there are big bore kits using 105.5mm piston making it a 734cc. I get that. So a stroker kit alone can make your motor 727cc. Now why don't people do both? I assume there is some reson too much stress on something. I t would be great otherwise to have 775cc! Even with stock compression.

I originally thought about adding a 11:1 piston with a stage 2 cam w/springs. These two mods are nice because you don't need to mess with the bottom end. If I go with a 105.5mm stroker kit from say weller would I need to mess with the bottom end? My other concern is the motor may need balanced?

So now I am thinking a weller stage 2 734cc stroker kit with stage 2 cam. I should be able to do this for $1500. Thats kind of my budget.

Sorry if I don't make sense this is the first time I have thought about doing anything like this (Stroker Kit).

Some people do both. Either way you have to get into the bottom end, replacing the crank with a stroker or machining the cases to accept the larger sleeve of the 105mm bore.

I would say if your on a $1500 budget: port the head with +1 valves and do a cam and high comp piston.
