grizzly trans swap

So I was looking through the service manuals and suplements and ran a bunch of numbers. I came up on paper with a rhino drivin gear, an 02 grizzly low and an 04 or better grizzly high for a 23.46 :1 low and 11.73 HI. Well after looking at the fiche and finding out I cant swap them like that becouse 3 of the needed gears from the various models are part of the first shaft. BTW the rhino comes out to 19.64 something in low and 14.02 in hi.

I did come up with 2 combos. one is to swap the gearset that drives the middle gear but that does nothing more than put low at about 16.34 and high at 11.67 If you put the entire 02 trans in then you will have close to stock low range 19.53 but 11.66 on the high side. That should wake things up on the dirt roads. I have an 02 motor that has busted cases so I have all the parts needed and my engine needs torn down for a good cleaning and a top end anyway. the only thing Keeping me from doing this is reverse in a rhino is already to high. With this setup if I'm stuck in low I can give it up in reverse. somebody give me a rope.

BTW nice forum. I've lurked for a while but I usually hang out on Highlifter but Obama blocked it from my work CPU I guess.

I have the Grizzly middle gears if you want to try them. They are too tall for most Rhinos, IMO.

I don't have the numbers in front of me right now but I thought I remember the middle gears being the same ratio. The gear set that drives the middle gears( the beveled ones) were very different ratio. Has anyone on here swapped a whole grizzly engine? If so what was the top speed before and after. I thoght I had the reverse problem figured out with using a 600 grizzly trans but there completly different. biggest difference is they don't use a chain. I tried to do the math on what MPH would be in theory of course but I think Im missing a gear ratio somewhere becouse at full shift out using 6000 rpm's as a guess it came up to 18MPH so I know I have something wrong somewere. I'll try to get the specs up on PHOTOBUCKET so ya'll can see what i'm looking at.
