Need help with intake

First off i had my 2004 660 rhino rebuilt about 2 months ago. it needed to be honed out a little so its now a 666 (+.05). it was running good for a little while i got a carb kit about a month ago and ever since then it hasnt been running as good. i dont no if it needs to be rejetted the kit just came with a new needle for better starts but i think it made it worse...i dono if im going down the road it starts to cut out and i no its not my rev limiter because it dont do it as much as that and i put a rev box on it and its cutting out about 10mph less then it normally would...i dono if it needs more air i was thinking about putting a snorkel on it but im not sure how to go about doing that...if anyone has heard of this problem of knows anything that could help id appreciate it
Thanks

the new needle is only for midrange.

did you drill out the plug for the low speed mix? if not you need too.

when you put needle in, what washers are in what positions? thin on top and thick on bottom of clip? clip in middle or only one position?

also when replacing needle, did you take care not to tear the diaphram?

all vacuum lines tight, no cracks? also check the intake boot for a crack.

all of these things will make it run poorly

A snorkle will make it run worse, not better. They are way to restrictive. Getting a snorkle to work on an otherwise perfectly running motor is hard, trying to do it on one that is already off on jetting will be even harder.

Get a Wide band AFR gauge. It will make jetting way easier. Your just guessing at this point.

Ok i didnt Drill anything...they only thing i used was a new washer and clip...the needle is supposed to be used for 05 and up....i put the clip and washer in the middle slot i believe, i cant quite remember...i have the instructions so i can look...i was very careful in putting the diaphram back with out tearing it...it told me to adjust the fuel mixture screw out 2 turns from the snug...i think i adjusted the correct screw im not sure because my repair manual doesnt show that screw and doesnt tear the carb apart real well... ALSO it back fires real bad if im going down a hill or are on the road and let off and push the gas again its backfires like a gun shot. it sucks

unless someone drilled it already, you cannot adjust the mix screw without drilling out the brass plug on bottom

the mix screw will help with backfiring also. but most likely this is a bad exhaust gasket or crack in the exhaust system somewhere

there should be two brass plugs on bottom of bowl under one is the mix screw. or some one took it out already

someone should have pics, I do not have any.

or call Chris at BEnchmark Performance 760-484-0986, he will know which one.
