no low gear after rebuild

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

hello i just got done rebuilding my 660 rhino. well when i put the cases togather on the work bench i tested the shifting to make sure it worked in all gears and it did all tho low was hard to get into. now that its been togather a couple days with no oil init i put it in the rhino last night. well now no matter if the shifter linkage is on or off i dont have low gear.so i ask what iusses inside the cases would make for no low gear? could there just be so uch drag with no oil init that the shift fork cant slide up the grove in the shift drum? do i just need to put some oil in it and run it for abit and see if it will go in then? i dont understand why it worked when i bench tested it but not no after setting any input would be great. so after talking to the owner of the cases i have he said he has never used low gear it has always in high gear when he was in the sand could this also be some of it

Try to spin the transmission while your tring to engage the shifter , I just rebuilt my motor also and had similar issues just trying to shift it dry , I had to spin the tranny to get it to go in low range. Now its running and working fine as it should.
