Hey guys, I'm completely rebuilding an '07 660 motor that blew itself up quite nicely. The drive axle broke in half, causing the gears to misalign and mayhem to follow. I assembled the crank case with all internals and the counterbalancer is contacting the crank. I know I have the timing gears correctly aligned and installed, and besides that there seems to be not too much to the crank counterbalancer assembly. I know the engine took a major shock loading when destruction occured, tearing up the old counterbalancer and the whole transmission. Is it possible that the inner ring of the damped gear on the crank could have moved? I know it sounds insane but I'm sort of perplexed. Thanks for any input.
