broke tranny

has anybody broke the chain or stripped the sprockets in a 2006 tranny. Under heavy load going up a steep incline I heard a popping sound then grinding from the tranny and no further movement. it seems to want to lurch forward then the grinding sound but no movement.

may have broke a belt? idk what it acts like when you brake belt so idk.

FYI rhinoís are belt not not chain.
